The Working Group on “Connection to Electricity Supply Networks” held a meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on “Connection to Electricity Supply Networks” of the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings was held in a videoconference format.

The head of the working group, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev, made a speech and provided information on the agenda of the meeting and drew attention to the timely and efficient implementation of the issues to be discussed.

Speaking about the activities of the Working Group, the head of the Secretariat of the Commission, Vusal Shikhaliyev, noted the achievements achieved in the relevant field and the importance of the effective implementation of the upcoming tasks in terms of strengthening the position of our country in international ratings. He drew attention to the fact that our country achieved high indicators based on the assessment results obtained in the relevant field in the preliminary report of the World Bank published in April.

The deputy head of the working group, first deputy chairman of “Azerishig” OJSC, Ramil Yusifov, provided information on the measures taken by the entity in the relevant field. He also noted that important work has been carried out in the direction of forming a favorable business environment in the country, connecting to the network, customer satisfaction, attracting and applying advanced practices to the country.

At the meeting, a report on the implementation status for the first 6 months of this year of the Roadmap for 2025 for the implementation of improvements and communication in the relevant field in relation to the “Utilities (Electricity)” indicator of the World Bank’s “Business Ready” report was presented, and the work done on each measure and the next steps were reviewed.

Also, information was provided on the steps taken and work done within the framework of the existing subgroup to establish the Unified Information System for Public Utilities in order to implement the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On approval of the Rules for the formation, maintenance, integration and archiving of state information resources and systems” and some measures related to e-government.

Finally, discussions were held on the measures planned and to be taken in the Roadmap for the next half year, and the importance of strengthening communication with relevant state agencies was emphasized for the timely and efficient implementation of relevant measures.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Energy, Economy, Digital Development and Transport, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, “Azerishiq” OJSC, the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and the Agency for the Regulation of Energy Issues.
